good news first:

my most recent fangirl moment as I'm catching up with things...

Tanuma: If only I could see it, too...
Natsume: He's quite the pretty boy, you know
Tanuma: I see, it's a good thing he's not a girl. I would have felt a little bit jealous.

*grins* Now, I know it's not meant like that but, but....^_________^ And I just love Natsume. He makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Skip Beat just gives me one aww-moment after the other when I'm not too caught up wanting to beat some sense into those people. Seriously. XD Can't you just get over yourselves and get together already? ♥ ♥!

I'm also slowly catching up with Gundam 00 (ep. 12) and Macross Frontier (ep. 20)...

All in all, however, I'm kind of missing real fangirling. It's not that there aren't shows I enjoy watching, and I do have aww and omg moments here and there (see above), but it seems like it's been forever since I got really caught up in something that I can squee over, go looking for fanfic/fanart like I have nothing better to do, make up my own stories etc...

The last time I felt really enthusiastic about something fannish was Supernatural, but that was quite a while ago. Now I haven't even watched the most recent episodes of the show, although I still love Sam/Dean. I still read the occasional fanfic (usually HP or SPN), but while I do enjoy it, I rarely get caught up in it the way I used to. Even Natsume, who I totally adore can't make me feel compelled to try and find my way into the fandom.

So, I'm watching other people squee over fandom related things and can't help feeling a little bit lost, because it used to be such a big part of my life, and I really miss the feeling of totally getting into a fandom. There's still liking and love....but no obsessing over and there bloody well SHOULD BE! T_T my life feels incomplete this way.

come back to me, fandom love. please? pretty please? ;_;

it would cost me about 120 bucks to have it looked at (with NO guarantee that files can be saved) and even if the data could be recovered I would still have to buy a new HD to have the files transferred - so all in all about $250. -.-"

so, even though it hurts, I don't think it's worth the money. I'm looking at 450GB of anime that is lost. or rather, a lot of time and downloading effort that is lost *sigh* I do have some back up on CD/DVD, and I know I can get most of what is gone either from belina or download it again. It's just such a hassle. grrr

T_T there were some rare files on it, though, and if I can't get those back, I might ask if one of you has it and could burn it/send it to me. Of course I'd pay for the cds/dvds and shipping.

Fortunately, I've been keeping a list of all the anime I own and where it's located (fairly up to date, too), so I'm already done checking what is really lost (not pretty, I assure you). Now I'm waiting for belina to let me know what I can get back from her and then it's going to be hardcore downloading time for me. ^^; internets beware.

oh ugh! i lost my external hard drive and it had a lot of stuff... luckily nothing i was writing. just music and anime and scanlations. but still... it's such a pain when it happens. good luck in whatever you decide!

i'm still in GW squeeland, though only fangirl with the other fangirls (especially when we happen to get together). but, your post and talk of fandom love reminds me that i have a story to finish... and even though i keep thinking of it from time to time, i still have yet to finish it.

fortunately, I kept my stuff separated on 3 different drives and the one that bit the dust was only anime (though quite a lot of it....>.<.), so nothing really important is gone.

*grins* I actually just recently thought about that story and how I'd really like to see it finished. ^_~ Let me know if you need input/encouragement/bribing...*smirks*

just thinking about it makes me want to crack it open and start working on it. but, there is one fic i need to finish this weekend. then i have to make a costume for my daughter's boyfriend... and then i can write to my little heart's content. :)

so, mid-march or so, i'm hoping the next part will be done. but, don't hold your breath. seems i can't keep writing promises these days.
