alive through night and day

I JUST got the confirmation that I got the apartment I applied for on Monday. ^__________^

Long story short:

Although I LOVE my apartment in Bern, I got REALLY fed up with commuting (2 hours one way) and, therefore, never being at home since weekends are also spent at the boy's place.

So...about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I started looking for a new apartment, which would be no more than 50 minutes (by public transport) from work and the boy's place, respectively.

And now I've got one. ^____________________________^ *does the uber happy dance* it's a nice place, almost twice the size of the one in Bern, 2 1/2 rooms (which in this case means small bedroom and large living room including a little dining area). There is also a bathtub and a terrasse/garden outside, which were two of my requirements. \0/

Now I need to find someone to take over my old apartment (otherwise I have to pay rent for both places for 3 months...YIKES).

Busy days ahead... (I am also working 100% at the moment...), but oh, oh, OH! EXCITEMENT! NEW PLACE to furnish and DECORATE! Living close to work and the boy (and some of my very close friends including <lj user="belina")! Whaaaaaaaaaa!

omg, omg, OMG!

I just found out that my new DVD player plays .avi files! It didn't say that in the manual...

*happy dance* I can watch my anime on my TV now! *____*

You have no idea how excited I am over this.

Must try later if it plays .mkv as well.... probably not, though. ~.~

[Edit] Ok, not all .avi files... some codecs/audio formats seem not to be supported. But hey, it's a start. ^_____^

*bounce* I just looked up the order process of my new laptop... it should be delivered on the 25th! ^________^

I just received a letter from International Relations.

I got the scholarship from the Japan Student Services Organization! Which means my flight is paid for, plus I get an additional 80'000 Yen per month (roughly $730/month).

Now, I really don't have to worry about money while I'm there, since I'm not allowed to work only having a student visa.

I'm going to JAPAN!

I got the definite confirmation of admission in the mail today!
I've been accepted by Yokohama National University for their exchange program.

I have to be there by October 3, and I will stay for two semesters until July. I also hope that I'll be able to do some traveling after that, and I'm planning on coming back to Switzerland at the end of August - middle of September.

In other news: RL is trying to kill me! Looks like I'll have to pull an all nighter...>.<

And I'll be gone for the weekend again.... I'm helping out in the orientation camp for the YFU exchange students who are leaving for their respective host countries in August. But in order to get there in time on Friday, I had to reschedule work on Friday, which means I'll have to be there by 7.30. ......

Hence, I decided to sleep at my grandma's tomorrow. She lives in Zurich.....^_^ which is where I work. And then I'll go right to the camp after work.

I'll be back Sunday night.
