I shall add another story to Tales of What Can Go Wong When Haraamis Is Travelling.
I boarded my plane in Chicago around 5.45 pm yesterday after getting through security relatively unscathed. I only had to take my laptop out of the case and not start it up like last time.
Plane was supposed to leave at 6.20 pm.
Yeah. Right. Emphasis on /supposed to/
We finally took off around 8.30 pm after waiting in the aircraft for over 2 hours.
So, we arrived in Paris at 11.50 am (my time) instead of 9.35.
Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris is huge.
It took them over half an hour to get us off the plane /after/ we had stopped. First they didn't get the staircase into an appropriate position, and then they didn't have enough busses to take everyone to the terminal (since we were way out somewhere on the landing field), so we had to wait for the bus to return. Of course, I had been in the very back of the aircraft, so I got on the last bus.
My connecting flight was scheduled for 1.05 pm. Did I mention that the airport is huge?
I got finally to the gate by 12.55, so I barely made it. My luggage, however, as it would turn out, did not.
And then the guy at Zurich airport tells me that next time I should book flights with more time between connecting flights. -.- Oh, thank you very much for that useful advice. I mean it's not like my first flight was over freaking two hours delayed, which left only /one/ hour to transfer instead of, what, 3 1/2? *snark* Moron.
Anyway, my bags will be delivered to my apartment sometime tomorrow. Hopefully. They'd better be.
*sigh* Why am I not surprised that this happened? ~.~
Will do a con report with a couple of pictures later. Need sleep first. And have homework to do before that. *falls over*
