haraamisSo. I'm still not done with the damn paper. *cough*
But. I'm at work at the moment, waiting for my boss to send me something I know he's working on, so I thought I'd use the time to write something about the big scout camp I'm attending in less than 2 weeks BECAUSE I'M ALL EXCITED ABOUT IT NOW. I might have mentioned it to a few people, but I don't think I've talked about it here.
However, last night, I downloaded the official song (you can download it here, too, if you're interested) and I'm totally hooked on it and all excited about going to camp. The lyrics are in all 4 official languages of Switzerland, with the chorus being Romansh and the verses French, Swiss German, and Italian (one each). I can't wait to hear this song sung by about 2'000 people at once. The mere thought makes the corners of my mouth inevitably go up in a smile and my stomach flutter with excitement. ^___^
So, what's it all about, you ask? Every 14 (!) years, there's a federal scout camp taking place in Switzerland (called Bu-La, short for Bundeslager=federal camp) for all Swiss scouts. So, two weeks of camp with about 22-24'000 people (for staff members like me, it's up to 4 weeks - I'll be there for about 3 1/2).
Of course, not all people are in the exact same place, but divided into 8 subcamps spread out within a certain area, each with 2'500-4'000 people. My brother and I are in subcamp 3, which is called Hotspot. He's responsible for supply and return logistics of that camp and some time last year, he asked me to take over the post office management of the subcamp to which Ifoolishly gladly said yes.
It's a lot of work (and responsibility), but I'm really looking forward to it. I actually attended the last Bu-La as well, at the age of 12 and as a mere participant back then, so not using the opportunity to be a part of something so exciting again, though from the different point of view of a staff member, was out of the question. ^_^

Anyway, that's my current light in the dreariness of writing papers and working full time. ^_^♥
