did you miss me? :P

Ah, I was gently reminded that I haven't updated in quite a while. Since I could never deny the lovely lady who made the request, I'm here, as promised. ♥
But although a lot has happened since my last entry, I still kind of feel like I don't have anything important to say. Too much going on in my head, perhaps?
I'm going tol give it a try, anyway.
This semester is quickly coming to an end, in fact, I had my last class today. All that is left now are an exam and several papers to write. Oh, and we all know how much I'm looking forward to writing those.../sarcasm. My personal deadline for all of them is June 30 seeing how I'm going to be incredibly busy with other things after that. Let's see if I can actually do it. ^^; Had a mini presentation today, which turned out to be not so small after all. The professor asked me to present my Japanese data (from a project we're doing in one of my classes) , since he doesn't know enough about Japanese to do it himself. Which meant I had to put a hand-out together and then talk about it in class today. It went well, but he'll better give me some credit for that. :P no one else in the class had to do that.
I also might have, possibly, a topic for my master's thesis. That makes me really happy since I've been stressing a bit about not being able to decide on even a distinctive field within linguistics so far. It's still very vague and only a bit more than a mere possibility, so we'll see once I've looked at what's been done on the topic so far.

My body, it hurts.....;_; well, I guess that's what I get for trying to be good and work out more. Stepping on the scale after coming back from a weekend spent at my parents' (about which I will talk in a bit) gave me a little shock...^^; so now I'm trying to be good. I'm not really on a diet or anything, just trying to be reasonable. *cough* I'm curious as to how long I'll be able to keep it up. Helllllo, self-discipline....

Weekend at my parents'. I decided last week to take the time and visit my parents properly, so I got there Friday night after work and stayed all through Monday morning. It was nice, and I did get some stuff done although none of what I was supposed to get done. ^^; I spent all day Saturday sorting through the things I have stored up in the attic at my parents' house and managed to throw out two big garbage bags full of....stuff. I also sorted through books and filled an entire box with those I don't want anymore. I'm not sure yet, though, what I'm going to do with them. My dad says to simply throw them out, but I might try and give them to some second hand store. Of course, I also came across a lot of things that triggered memories....lots of them. ^_^ It was a fun day, even though I was rather exhausted afterwards. Nevertheless, I was invited to go to a barbecue with my brother at one of his/our friends' house. We stayed much longer than expected (although this is not surprising... I should know better), and much fun was had, of course.
Sunday, I went to church - it was confirmation day for the kids I went to camp with last summer - and after that we went out for lunch with my parents and my brother and one of our friends. It's been a really long time since we managed to go out all of us together, and the food was just wonderful, so it was really nice. Came home and spent the rest of the day lazying around in the back yard. I finally finished The Harlequin (Anita Blake). ^___^
And Monday I met up for lunch with one of my best friends from highschool before going to my last class of the semester in Zurich.
Oh, and of course, I spent quite a bit of time playing FFXII - as so often lately - but considerably less than I had anticipated for that weekend.

On the fannish front, I'm still very much in love with Amatsuki (Kon! Toki! Kuchiha! ♥), Special A (this series just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and squealy and girly and....I just love it), Toshokan Sensou (♥♥!), and, of course, Vampire Knight (so.much.love). I've fallen a bit behind on most other series, but I'll try and catch up as soon as possible.
Also, writing? *SIGH* I want to write... but I have no motivation and inspiriation whatsoever. It seems I'm in one of those moods where I rather take in instead of producing something myself... which I find kind of frustrating but am unable to fight. nyaaa.

Anyway, that's it for now. ^^; I did write more than expected.... but I really need to go sleep now, as I've been exhausted for the better part of the evening but unwilling to go to bed just yet. And just look at the time now....e.e nighty night.
P.S. I'm too tired to read all the way through again, so I apologize in advance for any glaring typos or spelling errors....or weird sentences, for that matter. ^^; *toddles*

Date: Thursday, 29 May 2008 12:19 am (UTC)I'm really enjoying Amatsuki and Toshokan Sensou. After last season there is so much love for series with good storylines and likable characters.

Date: Thursday, 29 May 2008 07:43 am (UTC)I finally got all caught up on Vampire Knight. I'm liking that way more than I expected to. ^_____^

Date: Friday, 30 May 2008 09:04 am (UTC)Vampire Knight ~ *_* I have no words for how pretty it is. ^^; And the voices! ^___^
Btw, because you said you liked Macross Frontier so much, I gave it another shot...^_________^ I'm so glad I did. I really like it! So, thank you. ^_~♥
And now I'm really torn as to which icon I should use here...Shounen Onmyouji or Vampire Knight? Oh, the choices.... XD

Date: Thursday, 29 May 2008 12:46 pm (UTC)And believe me I tried when we moved to the house nearly two years ago. I think I managed to throw out two or three books that I bought as supposedly "damaged" (but were really just an outdated edition) and of which I only read the first few pages before I became annoyed with them. And still I was hesitant. I'm a nerd. >_>

Date: Thursday, 29 May 2008 08:09 pm (UTC)But I must say that I think you are very brave for getting rid of two bags of stuff. I always have a hard time cleaning closets and the like because 90% of the time I end up sitting on the floor looking at old trinkets and I get nothing done XD

Date: Friday, 30 May 2008 09:09 am (UTC)hahaha, why do you think it took an entire day to sort out that stuff? XD XD
I'm quite proud of myself, though, for having managed that much. There's still a lot to do, though. I might take a chance at my other closet next time I visit. Maybe. ^^;
