Sitting in the common room at the school - thank god for wireless LAN. I should be doing homework and I will right after I wrote this. Lots of vocabulary to learn...o.O;
Aside from that... ^____________________^
My host family is really nice. They talk to me, they drag me from one place to the other, they feed me delicious Japanese food.....*grin* ... I thought I might lose weight while being here....ah. no. no way in hell..... *snickers*
I seem to be very lucky when it comes to host families...*beams*
However, I am a little tired of hearing the "oh, you speak really well" when I know I'm not... *narrows eyes* and no comments from the peanut gallery. Yes, you know who you are.
This is not English. English is easy. This is not. The struggling for words and expressions is rather frustrating....but that's why I'm here, ne? I know I'm improving, but, god, is it ever sloooooooow......-.-"
And of course, I got the mandatory "do you have a boyfriend"-question.... *snort* and yes, when I answered "no", the immediate reaction was "why not?" *throws up hands in the air in frustration* How the hell should /I/ know??.... *rolls eyes*
Yes, but apart from that I'm a happy, happy girl. *grin*
Still haven't found a place to buy postcards, though....*scratches head*
oh, yeah, and bookshops are evil. very, very evil. *firm nod*
all right. Homework now. *is a good student* XD
Ja ne.

Date: Wednesday, 29 September 2004 03:25 am (UTC)Anyhow, *puts on wibbly eyes* do you happen to have a link for KKM 18 and 19 (or whatever they're on fansubs right now)? I've been trying to find them again and I can't! It's like they've been freaking hidden--just only from me. Can't find them on gotwoot.
*Sighs* And, BTW, I know exactly what you mean with the 'you speak good' and 'do you have a boyfriend' questions--I get asked that every time we have Japanese students over here (since my mom's the area coordinator for the exchange program). It gets very annoying after a while. >_< And they don't get American humor very well, either. 'I'm waiting for Sean Connery to be cloned' just doesn't get much reaction. ^___^

Date: Wednesday, 29 September 2004 05:16 pm (UTC)Because you're so sweet that no guy dares asking you for a date? *smirks*
Or because you have way too much lovers and cannot decide which one you should keep *fg*
Maybe that question is a part of the japanese mentalism, going back to the times when the girls were married at the age of 14. :-P
I know I'm improving, but, god, is it ever sloooooooow......-.-"
I know what you're talking about. I know just a few japanese words. It took me nearly one hour trying to find a good name for my Legend of the Five Rings - Character. She is an Otaku (No, not what you think. Otaku is the name of a family from the Unicorn Clan in the game...) Battle Maiden. A Samurai-ko with a very big No-Dachi. *fg* I finally named her "Chibuki", that is supposed to mean "Bloody Snow" or something similar. I needed the advice of a friend who studied japanese to combine the words Chi and Yuki. *sighs* Well, but you know I ALWAYS have problems giving my Characters a name *fg*.
I don't envy you in that case, but I'd like to visit Japan, too, someday.
I'm glad that everything's fine with you and your host family. Have a good time and don't spend too much money! ^_~

See, there's a lot more than fish in the japanese cuisine! And there's still the possibility of loosing weight since their cooking-style tends to be really healthy. Just avoid all the western stuff. ^_~
Hope you like the お菓子(おかし). *smirks*
English is btw. not THAT much easier than Japanese. I know several people who claim English to be difficult as well. It's different yes, but it's definitively not much more difficult than English.
Let's wait with this until you lived one year in Japan, ne. ^_~
Postcards -> try the 駅. There you should find postcards for sure.
楽しい週末を!
