really.... *sigh*

I do have lots of pictures, but I need to resize and upload them first. the easiest would be photobucket, but they don't accept new sign ups at the moment...*punt*

and yes, I know I promised to write a long entry on everything....but...I really don't know where to start. so I'm going to cheat. heh.

I'm giving you the basic set up of my trip and you can ask questions. whatever you want and as many as you want.

1. week: arriving, living at the dorm, trip to the local castle

2. week: living at the dorm, moving in with the host family on Friday, busy weekend

3. week: living with the family, another busy weekend

4. week: new classmates, weekend in kyoto

5. week: final test, final class, leaving for tokyo, flying home

All in all, I didn't have many problems there. However, one major thing happened. A quite aggravating one....*growls*

When I moved to my host family, it wasn't quite clear yet how long I could stay there (one week, two weeks...), so I was told that I could keep my room at the dorm (and the key) and leave some luggage there if I wanted to. Which I did. I left a warm sweatshirt, books, my art supplies, manga, and....my notes for the essay I have to write next semester.

I once went back there and got a book I needed. The week after that, it finally was certain that I could stay at with my hostfamily until the end of my stay, so I went back to my dorm room to get all the stuff I had left there. I came into the room and....stared. It was empty. Cleaned and empty. All my stuff was gone. So I went to the housekeeper and asked about my stuff...(in Japanese, I might add). Turned out that he'd only been there for a couple of days and didn't know anything about it. Nevertheless, he looked in all the storage rooms with me, but we couldn't find anything.

So, I went to student services the next day and inquired about my stuff, but they didn't know anything either. Went to Declan, the head of the internationl office the next day (who is Australian and thus speaks enough English to really discuss the matter) and he promised me to look into the matter over the weekend.

When I came back on Tuesday, they sat down with me and told me that the former caretakers (may they rot in hell) had made a mistake, confused my room with someone else's that had to be cleaned, and had THROWN OUT all of my stuff. IN THE TRASH.... *shakes head and growls* how stupid can people be...... some of the manga were still plastic wrappend and /obviously/ new.

Now, the worst thing is that my notes are gone....and the person who gave them to me is in Japan now. For the next three years. -.-" Great, really.

Anyway, nothing student services or Declan could do about that... they apologized over and over again. I really don't blame them. We agreed that I'd get a refund of all the accomodation fee as a compensation, which is ok, but doesn't quite solve my problem. I replaced most of the manga, and I will buy a new sweatshirt and new art supplies.... but the notes are gone and that is just....bad. very bad. *sigh* stupid, stupid people...*urge to strangle them*

Oh, well. I will try and contact the person who gave them to me...and then we'll see. There is no point in getting pissed off over this again, since it doesn't make it better....

All right. Now that I've ranted....feel free to ask away...*grin*
