uh...hi? ^_^

heh. Strange dreams again.

I'm always amused when I dream of people I've never seen before. The image in my subconscious has got to be SO wrong. XD Although, to be honest, I've dreamed of people before who I do know what they look like, but in my dream they still looked completely different. I just knew it was them, because... it was them. ^^;

So, last night's dream (I don't remember what it was about, unfortunately) featured [livejournal.com profile] toxictattoo, [livejournal.com profile] lil_1337, and [livejournal.com profile] lavenderfrost and a bunch of nameless fandom people.... I do recall having fun, but that's about it. I wish I remembered. *pouts*

Also, something that's been on my mind for a while now is the length of ficcage and the definition thereof. What do you consider drabble, what ficlet, and what fic?

I've decided for myself (quite arbitrarily) that from ~900+ words I call it ficlet, from ~1800+ words fic. Anything less is a drabble. Since I don't write epics, I don't have to deal with the definition of that. :P

So, what about you?

*curious*

How to make an American Quilt is definitely one of my favorite movies, ever. It has such a sweet and gentle feel to it, and the lighting is so very beautiful. So is the music. Watching it makes me feel good. ^_^

It would be hard not to have fun with that group. *grins*

Indeed, indeed. *grins*

A drabble is 100 words exactly. No more, no less. It's a challenge to express a meaningful idea in so few words--I totally fail at drabble writing. The term gets misused a lot in fandom, but y'know. Whatever. I stick to the actual definition, and don't get bent out of shape and start wanking when people use it in other ways.

For everything else--ficlets, flashfic, microfic, fic--I don't really know. I rarely pay attention to my own word counts, let alone anyone else's. ^^;; As long it's good, you can call it whatever you want and I'll read it. XD

A drabble is 100 words exactly.

See, I didn't even KNOW that. *sweatdrop*

I always thought a drabble was just something very short since I've seen it used that way most of the time.

Hm. I've seen exact word count restrictions, but usually it explicitly said "100 words".

XD Now I feel quite ignorant.

Well, like I said--the term gets misused, a lot. It's not really a big deal, since the 100-word challenge still exists, and who really cares what you call it? I just always approach something labeled as a "drabble" with the knowledge that it may be anywhere from 100 to 1000 words long.

Anyway, it's still a shiny new word, so the definition is bound to be fairly fluid. It doesn't even appear in any dictionaries, to the best of my knowledge (Wiktionary nothwithstanding).

I usually used ficlet for something 200 - 1000. Though the later amount can vary, depending on how I view the fic/ficlet. If it is humour/romance I am more likely to refer to it as ficlet. I guess because it sounds cuter? ^__^;

Oh..strange dreams...those are always strange...

I like your arbitrary definitions of fics...someone has to make them:)
