I don't know how it is in Switzerland, but here you can donate books to the public library--if they don't want the books, they'll usually sell them as part of a fundraiser. Either way, I think throwing out books (unless they're very damaged) is wasteful. Think of the trees! Hug them! (There's probably not even a line....) XD
